For a quick excursion within 15 minutes of the city, Lavaux Vineyards bring more than a bottle to the table. These UNESCO-listed vineyards command clarion views across Lake Geneva – a fitting accompaniment to the light Chasselas grape grown there.  

Time your visit between April and October and you’ll witness the vines somewhere between bud and harvest for the greatest variety of tour options and tipples.   

Book a private tasting with one of the local winegrowers for a personal tour or simply explore the paths that wend their way between the villages and terraces on foot.  

And if you do want to sample more than a sip of Chasselas (who wouldn’t?), it’s good to know that the scenic Lavaux vineyard train can transport you there without having to designate a driver.
